You can go in with tattoos
A day bath facing Yubatake, the hot spring field at the centre of Kusatsu, in a building styled after the Edo-Meiji era. It uses two springs, Yubatake and Bandai. The operator of Kusatsu's three main day baths states that guests with tattoos are not refused.
