Ibaraki · Ryugasaki
Natural Hot Spring Yubune Ryugasaki
A day-use hot spring inside the Tatsunoko-machi Ryugasaki mall in southern Ibaraki, with a strong salt spring. Its official FAQ says people with tattoos generally cannot bathe, but may if the tattoos are fully hidden by up to two cover stickers sold at the facility. The facility introduced this rule in April 2023 as a trial that may be stopped, and its price page still says people with tattoos cannot enter while pointing to that notice, so check before you go.
Saitama · Ageo
Tennen Onsen Hanasaki no Yu
A large day spa in Ageo, Saitama, 5 min from Haraichi Station on the New Shuttle from Omiya. Natural hot spring from 1,500 m underground, with a free-flowing open-air bath. Officially, guests with tattoos are refused, except that a tattoo small enough to be hidden by one of the facility's cover stickers (85 x 105 mm, ¥300 at the front desk) is allowed.
Chiba · Ichihara
Natural Hot Spring Yubune Ichihara Chiharadai
A day-use hot spring with two saunas inside the Morimachi Chiharadai Mall. An official notice (November 2025) says people with tattoos (including stickers and paint) are in principle refused, but may enter if the tattoo is covered with the facility's own cover stickers bought at the front desk. The official FAQ adds that up to two stickers (10 cm x 10 cm, ¥200 each) may be used.
Chiba · Nagareyama
Spa Metsa Otaka (Ryusenji no Yu)
A day spa with natural hot spring baths 2 minutes from Nagareyama-otakanomori Station. Tattoos are refused in principle, but tattoos small enough to be fully covered by two of the spa's own cover stickers (9.5 x 14.0 cm) are allowed once covered.
Tokyo · Chofu
Jindaiji Natural Hot Spring Yumori no Sato
A day spa with black-water (kuroyu) natural hot spring baths near Jindaiji temple. Its official FAQ says guests with tattoos may enter only if they can cover them with stickers or similar; anyone entering uncovered will be asked to leave. However, the list of prohibited guests on the same official site says people with tattoos are firmly refused, so the two statements conflict. Call before you go.
Tokyo · Itabashi
Maenohara Onsen Saya-no-Yudokoro
A day-use hot spring in Itabashi, Tokyo, with open-air baths.
Tokyo · Higashikurume
Spadium Japon
A large day spa in Higashikurume, western Tokyo, with clear natural hot spring water drawn on site. Its official FAQ admits guests with a single small tattoo only if it can be covered by one of the cover stickers sold at the front desk; larger tattoos, more than one tattoo, or refusing the sticker means no entry (or being asked to leave).

A natural hot spring on the 9th floor of a building near Shin-Osaka Station, with seven baths, a sauna and a foot bath, open from 6:00 on weekdays. Its official FAQ says guests with tattoos may bathe only if the tattoo can be fully covered with the bath's own cover stickers, sold at the front desk.
